VOGUE (Visualisation Of Gas for Utilities and the Environment)
is a collaborative project co-funded by the EU under Framework V.
VOGUE is developing and testing optical spectroscopy technologies
which can be used for the remote detection – and visualisation - of
gas escapes. This will greatly accelerate the detection of gas leaks
reducing time, cost and explosion risk.
The project, which is coordinated by
Advantica (ex-British Gas
Research) includes 8 other partners, from the UK, Sweden, Italy,
Belgium and Germany
The project has been facilitated by the European Gas Research
Group, GERG.
AOS’s role in the project has been in the development of the
optical scanning technology which will be used for the gas cloud
visualisation and in the design and fabrication of miniature,
ruggedised instrumentation packs. |
