AOS carries out basic research activities in a broad range of optical and opto-electronic disciplines, including Bragg gratings, spectroscopy, imaging and interferometry. We work for single clients, multiple clients and on collaborative projects.

Following on from a proven concept, AOS can carry out the design and development activities needed to reach the pre-production prototype stage. We are equipped  to provide services in all aspects of systems design, including optical, electronic, mechanical and software. Our Quality System is based on the ISO 9000 standard and we are currently working towards formal accreditation.

Whether your needs are for 1 or 1,000,000 off, AOS can help. We use a combination of in-house and out-sourced production facilities, and have manufactured both OEM assemblies and complete systems for our clients.

Installing fibre systems calls for specialist knowledge, skills and equipment. AOS can work with your engineering team at the planning stage and in the field or, if you prefer, you can simply leave the job to us!

The AOS team can provide training courses on a variety of optical engineering topics, including a 1 or 2 day course on fibre basics (background, handling, cleaving, cleaning joining etc), more specialist instruction on fibre system measurement and bespoke training provision for customer-specific systems.
